Forged Exhaust Pipe Flange Introduction:
The 3 Bolt Exhaust Flange is a key sealing component used in automotive exhaust systems to connect exhaust pipes in sections. Its name comes from the three bolt holes evenly distributed around the circumference of the flange, which achieve pipeline sealing connection through bolts and gaskets.
Core functions:
By balancing the pre tightening force of three bolts, high-pressure sealing is achieved between the exhaust pipe and equipment such as turbochargers and mufflers.
Structural characteristics
Flange body: a metal disk with 3 bolt holes (commonly made of stainless steel or cast iron), with a central through-hole welded to the exhaust pipe;
Flange Material:Carbon Steel,Stainless Steel (201/304/316)
Bolt layout:
Bolt and anti loosening nut: Three heat-resistant alloy bolts are evenly distributed at 120 °, and pressure is applied to compress the gasket to achieve sealing;
Standardization of hole spacing (such as 73.13mm, 77.08mm, 87.2mm) to ensure uniform pressure transmission;
Sealing gasket: sandwiched between two flanges to resist high temperature exhaust gas (requires graphite/multi-layer stainless steel material);
RF (protruding surface): Standard anti slip pattern, suitable for graphite gaskets;

Core installation steps
Install sealing gasket
Accurately place high-temperature resistant gaskets (such as multi-layer stainless steel wrapped gaskets) in the flange groove;
Key point: The gasket must fully cover the airflow channel, and the edges must not be exposed or shrunk.
Preliminary fixed flange
Insert the three bolts into the holes by hand and screw them into the nuts, only threading 2-3 turns to keep the flange adjustable.
Diagonal progressive fastening
First time: manually tighten until the gasket is slightly compressed;
Second time: Use a torque wrench to apply 60% of the standard torque value;
Third time: Finally tighten to 100% torque;
