The common materials for engineering plastics are generally as follows:

ABS,PP,PC,AS,PS,PE,PPO,HIPS,PMMA,PVC,PC+ABS,GPPS,POM,PA,ASA,PBT,etc.


ABS Product Characteristics:

● ‌Material & Surface‌

● ‌Texture & Color‌: Matte or semi-gloss finish, commonly in ivory white or black; supports multi-color appearance via spraying‌.

‌● Structural Features‌:

Visible tiny gate marks (1-2mm diameter) at edges of injection-molded parts‌.


ABS Application Fields:

‌1. Automotive‌: Dashboard frames, air vent grilles, button panels (with anti-slip textures)‌.

‌2. Electronics & Appliances‌: Router casings, socket panels, tool handles (anti-slip surface particles)‌.

‌3. Industrial Components‌: Pipe joints, equipment protective covers, corrosion-resistant brackets.‌


POM Product Characteristics:

1. Core Properties‌

● ‌High Rigidity & Strength‌: Elastic modulus of 3.1-3.5 GPa, tensile strength up to 70 MPa, and excellent bending strength, earning it the nickname "Super Steel" or "Steel Substitute" ‌.

● ‌‌Chemical & Weather Resistance‌: Resistant to solvents, weak acids/bases, and corrosion ‌.

‌● ‌Wear Resistance & Self-Lubrication‌: Low friction coefficient (0.21), ideal for oil-free lubrication scenarios (e.g., gears, bearings) ‌.

‌● ‌Wide Temperature Range‌: Long-term usability from -40°C to 100°C ‌.

2. Molding Process‌

● ‌Injection Molding‌: Primary method; mold temperature must be controlled (80-105°C) to minimize shrinkage (2%-3.5%) ‌


3. Application:

‌● ‌Automotive Industry‌: Gears, bearings, fuel pump housings (wear resistance, high-temperature tolerance) ‌.

‌● ‌Electronics & Appliances‌: Connectors, relay housings (high rigidity, dimensional stability) ‌.

‌● ‌Industrial Equipment‌: Pipeline valves, pump housings.



Polypropylene (PP) Product Characteristics & Applications

1.  Physical Properties‌

‌● Lightweight & Low Density‌: Density ranges from ‌0.90–0.91 g/cm³‌, making it the lightest among common plastics.

● Low Water Absorption‌: Water absorption rate of ‌0.01%‌, ensuring excellent dimensional stability in humid environments‌.

● Surface Gloss‌: Smooth surface finish after molding, suitable for high-gloss applications (e.g., household items)‌.


2.  Mechanical Properties‌

‌● High Rigidity & Tensile Strength‌: Good tensile strength and rigidity, but prone to brittleness below ‌-35℃.

● Fatigue Resistance‌: Ideal for cyclic loading applications (e.g., plastic hinges, containers)‌.


‌3.  Thermal Properties‌

‌● High-Temperature Resistance‌: Long-term use up to ‌100℃‌, short-term tolerance up to ‌150℃.

● Low-Temperature Brittleness‌: Brittle transition temperature at ‌-35℃‌, limiting use in freezing conditions‌

4.  Chemical Properties‌

● ‌Chemical Corrosion Resistance‌: Resistant to weak acids, bases, oils, and solvents, but vulnerable to strong oxidizers (e.g., concentrated sulfuric acid).


5.  Molding Process‌

● ‌Injection Molding‌: Primary method; melt temperature ‌160–220℃‌, mold temperature controlled at ‌50–90℃‌ to minimize shrinkage (‌1%~2.5%‌).

‌● Mold Design‌: Optimize gate size (‌pin gate diameter ≥0.7mm‌) and venting structures to prevent warping or sink marks.


6.  Application Fields‌

‌● Household Items‌: Food containers, tableware, toilet seats (glossy finish, antibacterial properties).

‌● Automotive Industry‌: Bumpers, interior parts (lightweight, chemical resistance).

‌● Packaging‌: Beverage bottles, films (low water absorption, heat resistance).

‌● Industrial Equipment‌: Pipes, valves (corrosion resistance, low density)
