GN615 Spring Plungers are engineered as threaded ball spring plungers designed for precise locating, indexing, and positioning tasks across demanding mechanical assemblies. The main body can be machined from carbon steel with a protective black oxide finish, or manufactured using specific stainless steel grades—such as AISI 303—to ensure superior environmental resistance. Engineers will immediately notice the smooth, predictable tactile feedback when depressing the hardened steel ball, a direct result of strict internal spring calibration. The metallic finish exhibits a clean, industrial aesthetic while emitting a faint, protective oil scent standard in premium precision machining.
Thread Size: Metric Thread (M3/M4/M6 or Customize special sizes). The precise metric threading ensures secure seating in tapped holes without galling or cross-threading during assembly.
Ball Material: Steel (surface hardening treatment applied for extended wear life in repetitive indexing) or stainless steel (corrosion-resistant, utilizing grades like AISI 420C for maximum durability against friction).
Surface treatment: Provide nickel plating and black oxide or Plaining. These specialized treatments prevent oxidation during transit and maintain structural integrity during continuous daily operation.
Thread locking: Nylon Patching or Polyamide Blue Coating, etc. This critical addition prevents the plunger from backing out or loosening under intense mechanical vibration.
Spring Type Options:
Standard Spring - GN615-K K: Steel, standard spring load for general positioning.
Heavy-duty Spring - GN615-KS KS: Steel, high spring load for applications requiring significant resistance.
Supplement Materials:
KN: Stainless Steel, standard spring load
KSN: Stainless Steel, high spring load
Installation Method: Thread directly into the installation hole. We recommend utilizing a matching slotted screwdriver or a specialized insertion tool to apply even torque, avoiding any potential damage to the internal ball mechanism during setup.

The GN615 series is extensively utilized across the automation equipment field, industrial anti-loosening field, and beyond. These components serve as essential locating pins, detent pins, pressure pins, and ejectors within complex mechanical assemblies. When engineering a snap-indexing mechanism or an ejector system, the predictable spring force ensures that moving parts lock into exact positions without requiring manual readjustment.
In fast-paced manufacturing lines, operators rely on the distinct "click" and firm seating of the ball plunger to confirm that a fixture or workpiece is correctly aligned. This tactile verification speeds up the assembly process and significantly reduces alignment errors. Furthermore, the availability of RoHS-compliant materials ensures that these plungers meet strict environmental and safety certifications, eliminating compliance hurdles when exporting finished machinery to international markets.
These components deliver exceptionally high load-bearing resistance alongside proven corrosion resistance. A variety of anti-corrosion material options are provided to extend the service life, even in demanding environments where moisture, chemical exposure, or continuous friction is prevalent.
We actively meet the customized needs of differentiated special coatings and materials in multiple industries. For instance, if your project requires food-grade hygiene standards, anti-static (ESD) properties, or ATEX-compliant non-sparking materials, the plunger body and ball can be customized to match those strict operational environments.
Easy to install. By integrating standard metric threads, these plungers thread smoothly into pre-tapped holes. To further streamline the assembly process, we recommend pairing them with our standardized mounting blocks and positioning fixtures, providing a comprehensive fastening solution that minimizes trial and error on the shop floor.
To accelerate the design phase, we provide comprehensive engineering support, including downloadable 2D and 3D CAD models (such as STEP files) and access to a 3D product configurator. This allows mechanical designers to instantly verify spatial constraints, thread depth, and spring travel distances within their digital assemblies before physical prototyping begins.
On the procurement side, we understand the critical nature of cost control and production schedules. We offer transparent tiered pricing structures to support large-volume manufacturing runs. With substantial on-hand inventory of standard metric sizes (M3 through M24), we ensure rapid dispatch and stable lead times, effectively safeguarding your assembly lines against unexpected component shortages and minimizing procurement communication costs.
